Enshu JE-60
Horizontal Machining Center
The
JE60 horizontal machining center features "Time
Optimization" whereby key subsystems have been computer modeled
in 1/10 sec. increments at the design stage and optimized within the
total system for maximum performance.
The
results of this systems engineering approach to slashing both spindle
times and "non-cut" times are tool-to-tool toolchanges of 1
sec., rotary table indexes of 90¯ in 1.5 sec., pallet shuttles of 6
sec., and spindle accelerations and braking to and from 8,000 rpm
within .81 sec.
The
JE60 horizontal was designed to provide many of the advantages of a
CAT 50 Taper machine while maintaining the economies of a CAT 40 Taper
machine such as smaller footprint, inexpensive tooling, and
exceptional ergonomics. The powerful 41 hp integral drive,
chilled-oil-cooled spindle features ceramic bearings and air curtain
nose protection. The huge 23.6" workcube is traversed in the
three primary axes up to 1,181 ipm, positioning at 0.00008" with
repeatabilities of 0.00004". The 15.7" x 15.7" pallets
each support up to 880 lbs of workpieces and fixturing. The JE60 can
be specified with a 40, 60, or 120-tool servo-driven, random access
tool magazine, all of which are serviced by a servo-driven,
dual-gripper arm toolchanger.
Control
is via the Yasnac i80 CNC featuring custom macros and a full keypad.
The CNC supports rigid tapping to 4,000 rpm, pacing the JE60 in a
class with many dedicated drill/tap machines.
