EV-650C
Vertical Machining Center
The
EV650C vertical spindle machining center has been designed for the
most difficult requirements encountered in machining pre-hardened tool
steels and high nickel refractory aerospace alloys.
This
extremely rigid, large table, high-horsepower machine features massive
heavily ribbed castings, over-sized box ways on all axes (dual sets on
the Y-axis), high- speed, high accuracy way oil film management, and
ballscrews almost two-inches in diameter, double pretensioned, and
slip coupling protected.
The
dual-range, 6,000 rpm, 20 hp integrally wound spindle motor drives the
oil-chilled, air-curtain protected, ceramic bearing supported spindle
with its #50 Taper spindle nose. These construction approaches result
in 0.00012" full stroke positioning accuracy, and 0.00004:
repeatabilities.
The
EV650C features a 78.7" x 25.6" table capable of supporting
up to 3,360 lbs. Rapid travels are 787 ipm (X and Y), and 591 ipm (Z),
describing a work envelope of 63" (X), 25.6" (Y), and
26" (Z). Additionally, the machine is capable of rigid tapping at
speeds to 3,000 rpm. Tools are stored in a 20 or 30-tool
random-access, bi-directional magazine, with toolchanges at 2.5
seconds, tool-to-tool. A built-in auger-type chip conveyor is also
standard.
