Enshu S-400 
Vertical Machining Center  

The S400 vertical features unique hybrid construction incorporating the best of heavy duty, extremely rigid bridge-type construction such as maximum rigidity, extended machine life, consistent accuracy, and an easily fixtured table. Standard is a powerful CAT #40, 10 hp air-curtain protected 8,000 rpm spindle (10,000 rpm optional).

The S400 is further capable of rigid tapping to 4,000 rpm, and an optional 13,000 rpm through-coolant spindle enhances high-speed drilling and tapping. The huge 25.6" (X) x 17.7" (Y) work area is traversed at 1,417 ipm via premium linear guideways, and is complimented by the deep throat of an 18.1" box- way-supported Z-axis for a cube that eliminates overhangs and provides full stroke positioning accuracy within 0.00012" and 0.00004" repeatabilities. Standard is a 20-station, servo-driven and fully enclosed ATC. And, for even less attended operations, a six-second pallet changer can be specified.
