The C 600 Series vertical machining centers developed by Hermle completes the successful C800 series downwards. It is designed for machining from small to medium workpieces and it does not only cover the traditional tool and mold manufacturing with three discrete configurations (vertical, production and universal), but represents with its design a new type of machine that combines the universality of the well-known universal machine with the productive characteristics of a vertical machining center.

Design Principle

• Modified gantry design;
• Tool travel in 3 axes, component independent dynamics, ideal condition for rapid movement and feeds up to 35m/min (1378" per minute).
• Mineral casting for the machine base;
• Guideways and drives outside the working area;
• Compact structure, thus minimum space requirement;
• Machine can be transported completely assembled;
• No foundation required for the installation (3-point supported);

• Full power of 12 HP already available at 950 rpm (at 40% duty cycle);
• Speed range from 20 to 12,000 rpm for a variety of applications;

• Tool changer with 30 magazine tool positions and chip to chip time of 5.5 seconds;
