The C 800 Series vertical machining centers developed by Hermle, does not only cover the traditional tool manufacture and mold making with three configurations (vertical, production and universal), but represents with its design a new type of machine that combines the universality of the well-known universal machine with the productive characteristics of a vertical machining center.

Design Principle

• Modified gantry design;
• Tool travel in 3 axes, component independent dynamics, ideal condition for rapid movement and feeds up to 35m/min (1378" per minute).
• Mineral casting for the machine base;
• Guideways and drives outside the working area;
• Compact structure, thus minimum space requirement;
• Machine can be transported completely assembled;
• No foundation required for the installation (3-point supported);
• High rigidity;
• Good static and dynamic properties;
• High positioning and long term accuracy;
• Short positioning times with acceleration of 5 meters per second squared.

Mineral Casting Design

• Traverse in X-Y-Z direction X-Y-Z 31.5 - 19.7 - 19.7 inches;
• Full power of 20 HP already available at 1,100 rpm (at 40% load factor);
• Speed range from 20 to 8,000 rpm for a variety of applications;
• Rapid traverse of 35m/min. (1378" per minute) for all axes to reduce non-productive time;
• Tool changer with 30 magazine tool positions and chip to chip time of 5 seconds;
• Pallet table with clamping surfaces of 31.5 x 19.7 inches each;
• Maximum load capacity of the table 550 lbs. each;
• Change over time 4 seconds;
• Revolving door on the pallet table opening to the left or right;
• Ergonomical control panel, movable from the operating position to the tool loading position;
• Large hinged doors can be opened right or left or front doors can be pushed sideways inside the cabin;
