| HITACHI'S
NEW TECHNOLOGY FFII is a patented fine-finish system that is
standard on all Hitachi submersible wire EDMs.
FFII will
dramatically improve workpiece surface finish quality and
integrity, while optimizing machining speed. It works by
completely isolating the rough cut circuitry (power supply) from
the workpiece.
This enables
the use of a preferred low-voltage, high-frequency power supply
for fine-finish machining.
Other EDMs
require costly special ceramic fixturing for fine-finish
machining. Ceramic sub-plates limit workpiece fixturing thereby
restricting work envelope utilization.
Hitachi FFII
eliminates the need for costly ceramic fixturing for fine-finish
machining and provides for optimum work envelope utilization.
Fixture work anywhere on the table - even extra-large workpieces
that over hang the table.
