The ANCA CIMulator3D is a revolutionary program that shows the tool designer the exact shape of the tool to be ground on ANCA tool grinders and provides the means to examine this shape from any perspective.

The CIMulator3D enables tool designers to have an unprecedented three-dimensional off-line simulation of grinding processes with the ability to view and measure tool parameters before commencement of the physical re-sharpening or manufacturing process. CIMulator3D executes on a stand-alone PC workstation and interacts, via a network, with the 3DX-NT and System32 CNCs, which feature on ANCA’s tool and cutter grinders and re-grinders. The package is easy to use, requires minimal learning and has the capacity to dramatically reduce the time taken to prove new tooling designs and programs.

The ANCA CIMulator3D is a highly functional tool. The tool designer can harness the powerful mathematical and graphics capabilities of ANCA’s software to give the same results associated with large post production quality control departments.

Here's a sample of the CIMulator3D features:

• On screen shadow-graph style protractor display that provides familiar radial and angular measuring tools
• Rolling ball measurement that provides rectangular and cylindrical coordinates of any point on the model
• Color-coding highlights of the cutting tool and grinding process previously unavailable to the tool manufacturer. Wheel profile color-coding highlights how the wheel contacts the drill point during grinding. It can also highlight interference using color-coding
• Position and direction of the cross-section can be changed in real-time simply by dragging it with the mouse without re-simulating
• A cross-sectional view that changes dynamically as its position changes. The cross-section can be easily positioned axially or across the helix or gash planes
• A view of the tool from any perspective by zooming in, panning and rotating to get the best view
• Transparent wheels help to investigate tool features with the grinding wheel in place
• Networking to ANCA tool grinders or CIMulators for immediate access by operators and tool designers.
• View 3D tools in Web browser (as option)

The CIMulator3D can also calculate relief, hook, helix and axial rake angles "on the fly" for any point on the tool.
