GIDDINGS AND LEWIS
HMC 1250/1600
Accurate machining for large part production
Capable of swinging up to 3000 mm and shuttling capacity up to 7000 kg, the Giddings & Lewis HMC 1250/1600 are built with rugged machining centres for the utmost accuracy. These machines were engineered based on customer input. They are designed for rigidity, reduced cycle time and the capacity to handle a wide range of parts.
Multiple advanced software programs monitor spindle load, adjust to spindle growth, control the feedrate according to cutting conditions, and more.
HMC- SERIES
Giddings & Lewis HMC Series
The Fives Giddings & Lewis HMC 1250 and HMC 1600 horizontal machining centers are designed for manufacturers who demand high metal-removal capability, precision, and dependable performance when machining large, complex components. Combining a robust machine structure with advanced CNC technology, these machines provide the rigidity and machining flexibility required for demanding production and heavy-duty machining applications.
Multiple head-stock configurations are available
Combining multiple machining operations within a single setup, manufacturers can reduce non-cutting time, improve dimensional consistency, and streamline production workflows. CNC-controlled machining, flexible tooling options, and work-piece accessibility help support efficient production across a wide range of component geometries.
The Fives Giddings & Lewis HMC series offers two machine sizes to accommodate different workpiece dimensions, machining envelopes, and production requirements. The HMC 1250 is suited to substantial components requiring precision and flexibility, while the HMC 1600 provides a larger work zone for oversized parts and more demanding machining applications
